Fly Traps
Various Systems for Killing Flies
Fly control products vary, as do the areas and situations where flies are
a problem.
In sensitive areas (restaurants, dining areas, schools, warehouses) space
sprays and surface
sprays are not always warranted. Trapping nuisance fruit
flies, house flies and gnats
can be a stand-alone pest control tool or can be a part of a total fly control
program. Each trap listed has its pros and cons.
Pheromone traps use sexual attractants that draw most filth flies and small
flies to a sticky surface or capture pad. Two types of traps that use
pheromones are the Gold Stick Fly Trap and Ultraviolet fly traps.
The Gold
Stick is primarily used indoors and can be hung from ceilings or placed in
window sills or other areas of fly activity. This is a disposable trap.
Ultraviolet fly traps
use a combination of ultraviolet light waves and pheromones to attract and
capture flies. All of these traps have a disposable
glue trap capture pad that is impregnated with fly pheromones. There
are four types of ultraviolet to choose from: Flytrap Professional,
Luralite and Satalite. Each trap is designed for use in different
atmospheres or areas of restaurants and night clubs. The Flytrap
Professional is used in commercial kitchens or other areas not visible to
the public. The Luralite
is the best trap to use in dining areas, buffets or other areas where public
visibility is a concern. Use the Satalite
Fly Trap in darker rooms, night clubs, lounges, bars, pool halls.
